The English Theater in Austria was founded in 1963 and it is the oldest English theatre in continental Europe. The theatre has attracted a many famous and  well-known stage and screen personalities to the Josefsgasse. English Theatre become an integral part of Vienna's theatrical life. It offers year-round productions of English and American classics, thrillers, comedies and farces as well as new contemporary works.
