How To Write Your Article Without Too Much Grief
You may think you can’t write your own article. But nearly everyone can do this.
You have a few basic steps to follow, and the rest is relatively easy.
The first thing that you need to do is to establish the reason you are writing your article. It may seem simple, but it’s very important. Deciding your reason in advance will help to keep you on the right path and avoid straying off in another direction which may weaken the actual content, or worse still, perhaps confuse the reader with conflicting statements. When you first begin then, you should come up with your title first, then fill in around it. The title should catch the reader’s attention. Your reader will be searching for an answer to his or her problem. The problem may be simple, such as comparing the features of 2 or more different brands of an item, or it may be more complex, such as a step by step guide on how to repair something.
When you’re choosing these titles, or topics, you have to keep your readers in mind. A good way of coming up with some sharp titles for your articles is to do a bit of keyword research. That is to say, look up the keywords that people are searching for that are related to your website content. When you’re doing this, at least in the beginning, you’re going to want to focus on the so called long-tailed keywords. These keywords are 3, or even 4 words long that deal with your website content. It’s important that you focus on these, at least at the start, because they are much less competitive than the short ones. For instance, instead of using the key phrase “article writing”, you want to choose perhaps “web content article writing” or something along those lines. There are a number of resources available that will help you along the way in this research.
The next thing you need to do is to take these keyword phrases and create titles for your articles that will pique the interest of your potential reader. Remember, they are searching for a solution, so when you write the articles, leave out the hype and the blatant advertising or you’ll lose them before you even win them. These titles have to be “killer” titles, or they will not get read. Choose something that will invoke curiosity, yet still have the ability to make good sensible use of your keywords.
A nice effective title will be one that is descriptive and it must let them know in advance what the article is about. It should also carry some sort of benefit for them. For example: “Auto Loans: How to Get one With Bad Credit”. The title tells them that the article is about auto loans, which is also your keyword phrase. The benefit is that you are going to tell them how to get one even if they have bad credit. You’ve covered your bases with a title like this and made good effective use of your keywords as well.
The articles themselves should be just as good as the title. They have to be informative because this is what will ultimately gain you the click to your web site. People are quick to point out where they have found good information, and if you are providing it to them, they will tell their friends or link to your article from their blogs or social media sites such as Twitter or Facebook. If your information is not fresh and informative, you will lose them and any potential free advertising as well. The article should serve to answer any questions they may have. For Internet purposes, a good article will run in the neighborhood of 500-800 words or so. Shorter articles may have to leave out key points and longer ones might test your reader's attention span! If the article is one that is likely to be long drawn out, then write a short article and point them to the longer one if they wish to know more. Remember that only your best quality article will do as you are building your reputation article by article.
There are a number of sites, such as Fylko, that will do justice to your article and allow you to link back to your site. We recommend placing each article in one place only and then linking to your article from good locations using relevant text links. This is a far more effective strategy than trying to place the same article in every corner of the Web.
Finally, try not to proof-read your own articles. We all make errors and another reader is more likely to notice these than you, especially when your article is recently written and you are therefore likely to view it through rose-tinted spectacles!
